What are considered Short Runs??

    Pig feed. I shouldn't have even commented because what I do is way different than most. I get paid per load basically for 0-20 miles 21-40 so on up to 100 then per mile. I like to look at my rate as per hour. And per hour the 0-20 is gravy

    distance/100 X 2 = Hours required one-way
    400 mi/100 X 2 = 8 hours one-way
    100 mi/100 X 2 = 2 hours one-way
    or just 2 hours per hundred miles for a rule of thumb.

    Agreed, short to me is generally 250 or less, though one 'short' run lane I often run can be closer to 300. Anyway, if I can do it in a day easily with time to spare to catch up everything else I call it a short run.
