Want to increase load capacity-want to carry 450+ bu legal (trucks specs below). Right now 315 is about all I can carry legal. Would like to put a tandem clip under it or a tag axle. What options do I have? Worried about the 5 spd with 2 speed rear if I change rears. Have found a tandem hendrickson (new style) with lockers (from a garbage truck) but ????
Trucks specs: 84 Ford 8000 single axle grain truck. 3208 non turbo Cat, 5 spd with 2 speed rear, 228" wheelbase. 50" rear overhang, 12 K front axle. old fire truck in real clean shape and I know what I have (reason I'm even looking at an upgrade).
Any thoughts?
