What are my rights as a trainee

There are people with experience who cannot agree with you.
I have two drivers at my company who were trainers for Knight. Both aren’t very intelligent. Both love to yell. Usually when they do. They are full of BS. Louder? The more full of it they are.
I was assigned one day with one of them with me driving. As long as he drove, it was ok...training on the trailer operation no big deal. But when I drove? I’m left to rationalize the boss asked him to try to get me to screw up as hard as he could? Or perhaps trying to get me to accept his attitude (demon) was the focus? You don’t want to hear the ridiculous examples of his chaotic screaming.
Then we have number two. Doesn’t even know what a clutch brake is. Can’t stand a good attitude from me. She’ll just start screaming self centered BS at me out of no where. Tells me what I don’t know instead of asking. Creates me into a low IQ creature. When she doesn’t know I have an IQ of 137. If she had any, she’s ruining all her credibility with the company. She’s never even driven with me.
These are trainers? What a joke.
Best I can rationalize. They have to cop an attitude to concentrate. Thus you must also. They have no idea what they invite into their hearts with these “attitudes”. Neither does most all of society. As it is written: You make them into twice the servants of Satan as yourselves.

 

Will he at least buy me dinner first?

 

If you're training somebody and you have to yell at them there's something seriously wrong.
Students get defensive when they get yelled at. They withdraw. They don't learn as much.
If you're explaining something and the student isn't picking up on it, talking louder doesn't help.
Try explaining whatever it is you're trying to get across in a different manner.
Yelling should be left for emergencies.
That old saying "there are no bad students, just bad teachers" applies a lot of the time. Not always, but a lot.

 

I am much like another person that has made comments in this thread is. I generally stay low key and quiet. If I can't by using a normal speaking voice get something across I rather just hold my peace and move on. With this said however. I could start typing right now 9 30 Eastern time on this day and keep typing for 3 or 4 hours about the problems in trucking and the regulatory agencies drivers and the carriers operate under. These same problems are not separate from this trainer/trainee dynamic either. I am bothered by the FACT that over 75% of the people I have conversations with that purport to being trainers have 2 years or LESS experience driving a CMV. I have also seen with my eyes, more then one situation where the trainee had more common sense about trucking then their fricking trainer seemed to have. Sometimes I am left wondering the same thing ole George did here ---------

Most trainers are human garbage. The worst of the worst. Better off bunking with a child molester or murderer in a 6x9 maximum security prison. I truly hope my first trainer takes a nose dive off donners pass so long as no one else gets hurt. That's all I have to say about that.

 

i learnt nearly nothing from my trainer, sadly. good thing my gf and I went to a driving school (clark state college) based out of springfield ohio with 4 old school retired truckers, 4 trucks to train on, and our class size was 8. we all pretty much killed the exam on our first try. well, my trainer didnt have to teach me lane control, backing (he did show me how to set it up at truck stops), and such. he literally just tried to show me how to use the elogs, drop and hook, slide the tandem, trip sheet, and dealing with customers.

the guy literally has an anger issue and sometimes i just feel bad for him

we were looking for a customer location and he totally lost it after one hour. threw his phone on the dash

one time he tried to show me how to use the qualcom and he couldnt touch it correctly with his finger. he then screamed and punched the screen repeatedly

there were other incidents but you guys probably understand how my trainer was. on top of that, he smokes inside of his truck with all the windows up (even in the middle of the night) which really killed it for me but i just had to put up with it and asked to be finish with almost 2 weeks early

 

depends what is stated in the contract, if no contract you can do what you please which is why a company will get you to sign a contract now they control you, some contracts come with a 10 day cooling off period although usually that's a contract to purchase e.g. buying a car or house if there is a cooling off period in your contract then you can quit without any repercussions if you do it within the 10 day time frame which starts from the date of signing, if not then the company can make you reimburse them for any /all costs.

 

Yeah the German's used the word "untermensch" meaning sub human Any Polish or Russian was treated is such a way where as if you were Dutch, Danish , Norwegian , French or English one would receive all the right treatment under the Geneva convention. By the way also so highly regarded were the French, English prisoners that some were actually offered to be freed if they agreed to fight for the Waffen SS on the Russian front there were actually many foreigners recruited by the German high command to fight against the "Communist " Threat.
