Are you a tourist or a trucker? Because if you're a trucker, you'll find out pretty d@mn quick that it ain't a vacation. "Places to see" rarely offer truck parking.

I second the Iowa 80 suggestion. It's just big, and it has lots of different fast-food and a sit-down restaurant and plenty of parking. Remember, your paid vacation comes to a stop if you damage anything. DO NOT bring a free-wheeling attitude to moving a truck. It barely fits in the lane and companies don't like paying for your mistakes. Don't forget about the random drug tests.
lual, Walk Among Us and Ddh77777 Thank this. -
My favorite is the I-70 over the Rockies from Denver into Utah.. then continue through the Utah canyonlands on I-70. You will be speechless.

The catskill mountains / catskill reservoir was one of my favorites to cruise through headed to chobani. Technical skill driving but very easy, and incredible views during autumn.
The only time it sucked was winter, since it is a very secluded area.Numb and Walk Among Us Thank this. -
I got to go drive across the Hoover Dam back before Sept 11, 2001 when they made it illegal for trucks. That was awesome. Now you can't even see the dam on the new bypass.
Walk Among Us, tarmadilo and wulfman75 Thank this. -
