What are the benefits of a long wheelbase ?

You think a fleet truck Volvo is better public image than a nice stretched out truck?

 

A lot of new trucks have vertical exhaust that is purely for looks. Order the truck with weedburner and then you can put pipes on that look decent without having to spend big bucks on the ones that won’t discolor from the high exhaust temp on newer trucks.

 

How does it give a negative image? Chances are that it will not sit in the left lane for five miles trying to get around another truck going .5 mph slower. That reflects poorly.

How does it take much more space on the interstate? Truck stops maybe a bit.
Also, the inefficiency depends on what task is being completed. Pulling oversized I have a hard time believing a Volvo will get any better mileage.

 

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I’d say all those short wb fleet trucks do more damage to the negative view of truckers than an owner op in a long truck.

I actually think the guys that bring up the fact that another man might be trying to compensate for something are the guys that actually have the small pipe syndrome you're speaking of.

 

I have cab mounted exhaust on my 579 and only the passenger side is hooked up anyway. The driver side stops at a mount on the frame.

 

Yea I have driven the autos for the cascadia and international few weeks and then got into the ishift.... not big fan of volvos due to the ride comfortability as the seat sits almost atop the front axle but when it comes to their ishift... hell I could probably drive a stick and not be as accurate. It really is an amazing creature.

 

I won’t lie guys I have seen a few stretched sloped hoods that look really nice
