What are the best OTR mega starter companies.

Couple others like Schneider said I was out of their area or mo positions in the area at present.

One thing that stood out about Heartland was that lots of reviewers, even negative ones, said they keep their equipment in good shape.

 

Yeah, I figure dry van is a good place to start to learn and focus on broadbased general skills and not drill into specialties.

 

I went to 160 Driving Academy. They got the job done. Went through with a class of 3 guys, we all passed CDL test first attempt. Tester told me only slightly more than 50% pass first attempt in Oregon but the 160 Driving Academy guys tend to do a lot better than that.

I was a satisfied customer.

 

I will say I am leaning Heartland so far. After their training on location for 4 weeks they send you out with a trainer for 15k miles. May was other end of spectrum, like a week or two and you are on the road.

Most places offer tuition reimbursement.

 

May recruiter called today, we reviewed my application, she said everything looked good so she was submitting it for hiring review.

Upside is training/orientation is only about 60 miles from home. A little long for daily commute but home on weekends.

Downside is they are now recruiting for November class. A bit longer wait. But that is transient concern.
