Unless you have been going to the same place before, you will not have a clue how long you will be there. You could end up being there for ten hours.
Another case would be you empty out in the early morning and go to the local truck stop. You are wired, so you stay up and play on the computer. You take a shower or whatever and maybe eat. Still have not slept and then at 3 in the afternoon, you are dispatched to get a load which you knew nothing about. It has to deliver 550 miles by morning.
What will you do?
It will happen.
What are the companies with highest beginning salary?

If you are serious about this industry, you have alot of research to do. Start with Google-maybe stop at a truck stop and pick up some FREE magazines that have more information in them. You definitely need a school if you haven't driven before. I went to a driving school and been on the road since 2007-it is hard. You very rarely get home, you drive alot, and you shower in a public restroom. You have to be safe and rested. You need to eat right and exercise when you aren't driving. In a 24 hour period you can be on duty 14 hours and drive 11 - that makes for a loooong day to get the load there. There is monetary gain but it might not be worth it.

I'm guessing trucking job is easier to get than McDonald's in this economy though? -
What about in Florida where there is no state income tax? -
Dream on. You are not worth helping because you always have an answer kid, you are gonna be easy pickings for the companies, they are gonna shaft you and then you'll come back here crying about it and all we'll say is we tried to tell ya. But go ahead listen to your audio books and play on your computer, and keep believing what the company tells ya. You wont last 6 months out on the road if you even make it past your 6 weeks training. -
My idea was to go to bed maybe at 10 and then wake up at 3. -
But I can tell from your posts you know everything. So consider yourself on your own now. -
What does that supposed to mean?
