Never had a lizard approach my truck ever. I have seen them, but the only people who knock on my truck are either people begging/wanting wash my wheels or CR England drivers with questions. The two most common questions being how much am I making (.38 cpm) and how much do I pay for my truck ($0).
Though I have also had 3 times this past year where CR England drivers came up to me asking questions and asking for money/rewards points....
My favorite TS is the Davis Travel plaza in Virginia off x33 on I95. Nice clean restrooms, burger king, subway, Starbucks, dennys, hotel, great c-store, nice parking lot, etc.
I love getting a caramel macchiato at 2am, the only other truck stop I visit regularly that has a Starbucks is the TA in Jessup and you have to cross the street it isn't in the building
What are the safest and most dangerous truckstops??

The TA in Jessup, MD? I try to stay out of there if I can and as far as brand name truck stops I'd rather go to a TA or Petro. It ain't the worst by far but still. I just don't like it. Running out of time thing to me. If I'm running out of time I'll pull the brakes wherever I can find a "not gonna get a parking ticket" spot. Speaking of, be careful where you park at the rest areas in Texarkana. Cops around there are real jerks. While I'm at it, the TA in Gary ain't nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

My husband I stayed at the TA in Jessup Christmas eve, wasn't bad at all. TA personell driveing a golf cart around most of the night, I stopped them once and they followed me up to the restroom and back, I did that so I wouldn't have to wake my husband up. Wasn't the cleanest place on earth, but I've sure seen dirtier. I DK if it's like that all the time now or if they were only doing that Christmas week, also suspended the pay parking at least that night.
My favorite so far has heen the Bosselmans in Grand Isle, Ne.
One of the few places i have not felt safe at all was a pilot in west Memphis (I guess I should have read this thread before we stayed)
Got told by a lot lizzard at the Spirt truck stop near Lake Panasoffkee, Fl that this was HER truck stop and I needed to move on. Errrrr if it hadn't been 2am I'm sure I would have come up with a better comeback than "just leave my truck alone and I won't call the local PD".ok well my husbands truck, but I was in it to.
I much prefer the rest areas, weigh station safe havens and smaller truck stops. Only showers are a problem at the first two. -
Neither! Just stay away from the mega mummie dummies truck stops and save yourself a lot of headaches and money as well. Leave em for the new breed runkie dunkies who have the herd mentality and insecureness bred into them. Hasta La mega truck stop chains!

Virginia has alot of the worst truck stops especially along I 81. The TA and Pilot in Troutville, VA. The Pilot in Greenville, VA (I wonder who designed that truckstop). The Love s and Wilco in Toms Brook, VA( Both are pain to get fuel and get in and out). The Flying J in Winchester ( tight parking and taking 40 days and 40 nights trying to get fuel). But the absolute worst truckstop of all time was 20 miles up the road, the TA in Martinsburg, WV. No canopy to keep from getting rained or snowed on. All the store itself had was a Country Pride and a convenience store

Well you don't have to worry bout martinsburg anymore--since its been a Wal-Mart for quite some time now! LOL
