I've never really felt unsafe in a truckstop, but then again I'm a big crazy Canuck so..... who knows. As for bad truckstops I nominate any Broadway flyingJ. Dirty, old, tight parking, sometimes in dirt lots(which when you add in the weather in the PNW.....) Food's usually not too bad though.
my favorite one is hucks exit 95 on I57 in mt vernon ill they have great country cooking and plenty of parking and my worst is the TA in nashville bad place to be even in the daytime
The Broadway Flying J in Federal Way is CLOSED. It closed last year when the City of Federal Way refused to renew their permits. GOOD RIDDANCE
Somehow that doesn't surprise me. I would agree with that statement, but it's getting harder and harder to find a place to park in Seattle. Oh well, how's Kens doing since it became a T/A?
IF you are referring to the TA in North Bend it has gotten MUCH worse. On weekdays it is full at 3pm. A real dump.
Thank You Truckin Juggalo for the updated correction to my post. The last time I was in Jessups was a few years back before the Idle-Aire scare. Of course since it is a Trash America, it WILL HAVE TO HAVE the Idle-Aire as the others do.
Short of tossing urine from a container on 'em, I merely tell them that I ain't interested and that I will not tell them twice. I tell 'em that if I see 'em again at my truck that we'll find out what'll happen together. I usually do not see them twice except for the really ignorant AND simple minded parking lot scum. Sometimes the lizards are drivers trying to boost their "income" as well as some of the "dealers". At some truck stops, ones parking lights are a signal that one "wants company", so be wary. Beware means Be Aware. One has to also be careful when trapsing thru truck stops between trucks because of all the careless people in trucks that toss things as well as liquids out their windows regardless of whether another person is there or passing by. I've not been hit by any noxious fluids because I tend to look at the door windows before passing by to see whether they're open or not, however there are quite many "geniuses" that'll open their door and toss stuff, fluids out, so the window idea works sometimes. With the stupidity and carelessness towards others inherrent with a lot of these "new" drivers as well as some veterans, we are sure to be witness to some incredibly sad acts in and out of truck stops, in addition to the ones currently happening. With all the books that have been written regarding Truckers and trucking, I'm sure yous will be a hit and a good addition to the Tome library. BEst of WELLness 2-u-n-urs-n ALL (ad)ventures!!
haha... well wish me luck... thats where i am right now :smt083 but its only 4:30 pm here. I havent gotten too bad a vibe yet, but i'm gonna go inside and get my nightly business done before it gets dark... thats for sure. When I park, i immediatly climb in back and pull the curtains... havent had a problem yet... its when your just sittin there in the drivers seat that you get all sorts of beggers attention.
