As per the recommendation of my (former) personal trainer wife, I wear flat sole shoes (Vans or DCs) for lifting furniture. Then I just keep wearing those for driving.

Hadn't given consideration to footwear for driving purposes.

When I pulled reefers & tankers had to wear steel toe or composite toe boots.
Some drivers only wear them when loading or unloading, but I wore them all the time because they are comfortable.

I like driving barefoot, always have a pair of boots and shoes in the truck.
No one boot is good for everything, that is why i have 14 pairs of boots, it depends on the weather and task.
I have 3 pairs of pull on rubber rain boots, no insulation at all, some insulation, and warm ones, that is just rain boots alone. If you are walking around on ice, go to Mark's work wear, and buy shoes and boots with Ice FX Soles, they have good traction, even on ice.
