You can find 'em but can you TRUST them once you leave the purchase location? That's the trucking version of taking $30K and putting all of it on the craps table at the closest casino. First place I worked, the original owner's '65 KW went to a company guy now owner op for the same company. He hauled #2 and bunker oils in 'nice' clothes and was always clean as you can be. Had the truck frame cleaned and repained every spring. 1977 he buys a newer KW and sells the wet line with his 65 to a local excavator. It had over 900K; was a 250 cummins and ten speed. 6 months of dagging a dump trailer and they blew out the rears....
im a great fellow. I just spent 40k rebuilding this truck. I ain’t losing son. I can’t tolerate broke bastsrds.
Spend 30k and you need an overhaul for sure. spend 80k your going to most likely need an overhaul. spend 130k and you have Def/dpf issues coming up
There is a dry van trailer from 1999 down the street from me. Guy wants 11k for it. You can buy a few animals to breed. For 30k I have a cousin that does that down in the keys. Sells em all around the world. They win shows all the time. Its fun looking at the pictures.
A friend of mine just called. He sold his 01 Century for $34k. It’s a decent Truck, Less than 100k on a rebuilt 12.7. Been working it every week. Says nows the time to cash out. I’d have to agree. Truck prices are going to fall, as fuel increases.
