Simple Green is great. Get a bulk refill-type jug and a dollar store spray bottle. I've used Simple Green on the same surfaces and same dirt as Windex, 409 and dish soap and water and SG is excellent.

I'd also recommend a couple brushes. Look for the Libman (I think) kitchen cleaning brushes. Get a nice big one for the open areas and a small one for corners and crevices.

I have a bucket full of supplies in the truck with me so I can keep this old thing clean inside alone.

Don't worry, I'm also standing by for more...err....."interesting" threads:

1). How do I brush my teeth?

2). How do you press the clutch in the floor to shift the truck?

3). There is a drop of oil on the ground. Should I log that on line 4?

4). I was waved at by another driver while on line 3. Should I be off duty?

Gah, where has the common sense gone off to in this industry? :biggrin_25510:

You're sure asking for a great deal Jim. How dare you demand that people have common sense! :biggrin_2551:

I vote for the simple green also, works great & smells clean after. And I have used vinyl top wax as a way to protect the floors. Not slippery at all. Spills wipe right off.

Get a small bucket, some dawn dish washing soap, and some sponges. I can actually clean the front area of my cab while fueling my truck really quick doing this, pouring a little water from the hose at the fuel island into the bucket and scrubbing it clean. I use a hand brush to sweep debris out 3-4 times a day probably. Most the time I use 409 to spot clean.

Yes, but I was talking about their original product that just went by the name 'Armor All'.

It is a restorative - to make vinyl, rubber and leather more supple. It also repels water but, alas, attracts dust.

As for cleaning rubber floor mats, I use Windex (or similar) - after a sweep with a hand broom and dustpan. Or, you could us a 12V vacuum before the Windex (but I haven't gotten around to getting one yet).

    3 or 4 times a day?
A bit excessive, I would say.

And all that work with a bucket and Dawn and pouring water and sponges,

A paper towel and a squirt of Windex once a week.
Or, maybe you generate a LOT more dirt than I do.

Not to mention, when fueling you should be outside your truck - not inside doing stuff.
If that nozzle comes loose and you are inside cleaning, how much fuel will spill before you can stop it? Or even notice it?
