I'd go with Telus, I can't wait until my contract is up with Bell.

What's wrong with Bell? I had them a long time ago, and I know they piggyback on Telus' network, so coverage should be comparable.

I will have to do some research on Telus. I saw a Rogers store in Prince George and was thinking about stopping on my way back, but might put that on hold for now. I am about to go to a Alaska Communications store in Anchorage and see what they have to offer.

The problem with Verizon is they went straight from 3g to LTE. HSPA was skipped over, and is used a lot in Canada. Not only that the LTE is on a different frequency. That's why we only get 1x in Saskatchewan, and in a few years Alberta and BC will be the same when Telus drops 3G. Verizon was great for a long while, especially with the unlimited global data that is no longer offered but is grandfathered. They may not be the best option in the future.

On Verizon I have 900 North American minutes with 22% off, and unlimited global data for 64.99. My bill comes to $141 USD every month and I've never gone over.

    900 minutes $79.99 22% off = $62.39
    GlobalEmail unlimited = $64.99
    250 texts = $5.00

I regularly hit 5-10 gigabytes Canada and US combined.

I would think that telus would be your best bet for the BC leg of your trip, but I have no clue about the Yukon - Alaska part of the route. If you decide to go with Telus, go to a corporate store not a dealer, dealers just want to get your contract and will tell you what they think you want to hear. An unlock phone and prepay might be the way to find out what actually works and you might want to look into a booster.

Telus is limited in the Yukon except in the major hubs. Probably the best service though.

    I'm loking at
    http://www.roammobility.com/plans
anybody use them? Apparently with a samsung galaxy note 3 you can get an adaptor and run 2 SIM cards and just toggle between them in the menu on the phone. The "snowbirds" plan at $39.95 a month looks great tho you have to pay 90 days at a time. Unlock you own phone ns buy their SIM card for $19.95 and your ready to go??
