I am staying on my instructors truck for the team training portion of my training.

 

Yea i like the idea of the 1 on 1 training, but I'm not sure if other companies will look at it is 120 hrs of 1 on 1 versus 160 hrs of group training, or just see the 120 hrs and pass me by.

 

The 120 hour class would probably be better if it's 1 on 1, but a company won't care. They just want whatever their insurance says which is usually 160 hours. The best thing you can do is just call up quite a few companies and see what they say they want before you decide. It'll give you a better information when you make your decision.

The thing is, you don't have to start with a crap company and have to basically serve time. I spent $5.5k on school myself, made $50k my first year at my first company. I never understood the notion on this forum that it's ok to get paid like crap your first year or two.

 

So you'd rather work 70 hours for $500 (if you're lucky ) than 40 hours for $360 .

 

I am assuming that you have checked already but it seems to me that 120 hours one on one would be credited as 160 hours by the school. I could see going that route just for the one on one aspect but the down side of that is if you get an instructor that you are not compatible with or don't communicate with very well................that's the only one you will learn from vs. having different instructors.

 

i wish i made that much. Your probably talking gross income, which seems about right, but that translates into about 250 a week take home. if i have too ill deal with the 70 hours and 500 for the first year to get the experience simply because this time next year, if i dont do something, ill still be making 250 a week take home as opposed to getting some experience behind the wheel and getting paid more.

 

What company are u planning to sign up too

Why go with the company when the government can pay you for free with their grants. For low income people
