Yeah but that is only because they work twice as hard unloading the truck

I did it starting at 42 yrs. old and didn't have any problems. The company started an OTR coast-to-coast division using 5 trucks and I jumped on that because I don't like local or regional.

I've already got some serious knee problems, unloading the truck isn't possible for me right now.

Yeah, being tall isnt good either. I am (or WAS before gravity and age set in) 6' 1" and running up and down them skinny ramps was a killer on me. I did food service for about a month (many years ago)...

I called today and spoke with the recruiter there. The cruise is disabled when headlights are on. That is a hard pass for me.

Late to the game, but I'll throw this in the mix for anyone looking for guaranteed minimum pay & home weekly.
They put an asterisk next to the minimum pay but didn't see what the catch is on their website.
BIR Transport. They have terminals in VA, TN, and GA.
I don't know their hiring area.
Never worked for them but see them around on 81, 77, and 75.
