Kind of odd to base your future employment plans on whether or not a company requires a uniform. Aren't there more important things to consider?

I can see uniforms being a factor in what company you work for. If I never see a uniform again it'll be to soon. I'm 39 and have spent 34 years in uniform; Catholic school, Army, cop and corrections. Can't I just look like ZZ Top for the next 20.:druid:

They require them yet you pay for them... Something wrong with that.

I wear a uniform. No charge,; it's part of the package.

And I get paid to wear the uniform so I just do it.

Can't help but wonder what "it's my friggin life" is gonna look like. And what he's gonna make. We're well paid and can be terminated if appearance becomes a problem.

I think "it's my friggin life" has an attitude problem that will find its way into his paycheck. Too bad....but like he said.........

I guess any company that did NOT require a uniform would be one that I would not want to work for nor would I like my hubby to work for.....when you show up you are presenting the image of the company, they have EVERY RIGHT to require you to be neatly dressed and at least relatively clean.

Uniforms save your own clothing from all the grime of driving too. The public has a poor view of truckers to begin with, maybe cleaning up and looking like they care would go a ways towards improving that attitude.:flower:

I'm always neat and clean. If I can I take 2 showers a day. What's wrong with a pair of jeans and a polo shirt? Have you ever spent a summer day outside in polyester? I'd just like some comfort for a change.

I am gratified to see the number of "neat and clean" people around here, but not really surprised. The people in this forum are, on average, above average....heh,heh..

If I were the owner of the company or truck "neat and clean" would be the requirement. That's because your appearance represents what is going on inside your head, and that in turn tells me how you will treat the equipment.

So why do companies hire these dirtbags that we've all seen? Because dirtbags will work for peanuts, that's why! They see these goobs coming and know they can promise them anything and get away with it, too. Ever notice the number of dirtbags getting out of poorly maintained or dirty trucks? Can you possibly imagine that these people are making money to be proud of? I can't.

If the company didn'y supply them I'd be wearing blue Dickies anyway. I can't work in jeans.
