You mean I-70 in Indiana. Have they started fixing that stretch? Last time I was there was over a month ago. God, I almost bounced off the freeway!

    Issue found.

Wheels where not balanced prior to installing centramatics, rear shocks are leaking, and spring bushings.

Now my question is this. Do the steers have to be balanced prior to installing centrematics?

Since I got the truck with them on I don’t know.

It is a good idea to balance steers but the rear shocks and bushings seem to be the important part. Rear shocks going bad seem to be ignored when it comes to straight axle vehicles, this applies to cars and pickups too when they had straight axles.

Mine didn’t get balanced before installing centramatics. I have no tire issues on my steers. Now, bad leaf spring bushings and shocks can mess up your tires good. Shocks, by the way, are some of the easiest things you can do yourself on your truck. No need to pay anyone. By now, YouTube should have dozens of instructional videos.

No, they do not need to be balanced. I would take this to a different shop to get a 2nd opinion.

If you need YouTube to change shocks, you'd better get someone else to do them.

Would an apprentice watching his master tech doing it to learn be considered the same thing?

On a side note all is fixed and I used Michelin X Line energy Z tires.

4 new shocks and 3 axle alignment.

Spring bushings later as I need to find someone who isn’t going to charge 2k for the job.

Honestly? I would expect a 10yo to be able to look at a shock and know how it comes off.
YouTube videos are great. I've used them on multiple occasions. I just think shocks are self explanatory.

Which spring bushings are bad? Front or rear?
