Sure glad somebody likes the moving van business, I sure would not, but them I'm too #### old to be luggin' friges and washers up two levels of stairs on my back. And some of those old residential areas are not made for a semi. Was in a old part of Harrisonville the other week and boy, talk about tight intersections, and there is always a pole or sign right on the corner.
Back to the original thread subject...Been with TWA for 38 years before American Airlines bought and booted us out. Worked in Flt Crew Scheduling, Capacity Management ( figuring the over booking levels on flts) and a number of other jobs.
In trucking (local for the most part) now and lovin' it. May think of retirement soon, but not yet. Nice truck, nice job, life is good.

3 years service tech. 3 phase electrical and gas deli equipment. Drove 300-500 miles a day serving NW WA state. Sole service tech, ordered all parts; did everything except most billing. Boss was jerk.

I was a rocket scientist but was looking for a change. BlackW900 told me this wasn't rocket science so I thought I'd try it out!:biggrin_25525:

Physics, bio- related. ######, nowadays, too many jerks in control of the academia, you either suck their ### or be really the top a few in your field. If you don't want to do either of the two, you get kicked out and find no place to go.
So, to anyone who is thinking of attending school or having kids going to school, never choose basic science even if you think you are smart enough to handle it -- it is not just intelligence, but just too risky (any one of your competitors is from the top 1% of the total population, in terms of intelligence, but there is just not enough bread for everyone).
