Dad loaned me the money in 2002. Can’t remember what it cost. I’d ask him but he’s not much for conversation since he went to live in the urn.

Two weeks of classroom and two weeks of road training.

Even though I went through an independent 'school', I didn't pay anything. Once upon a time, there was this organization call Urban League. Even though I didn't fit their usual demographic, I received a grant equal to the amount of tuition. Stipulations: I must actually use the license, once obtained and I should 'check in' every 6mos and offer proof of said use. I'm going on 16yrs, now.

Rideandrepair, JoeyJunk and Vaso.L Thank this.

Same here! Ohio 1964, I passed both written tests 100%. I didn't even do a road test (the driver inspector said 'm supposed to give you a driving test in your personal vehicle, what are you driving? I said 1964 Chevy Nova SS 283 4 speed, he said, if I see it I'll want to drive it, here's your license). Didn't do a road test for the company I drove for, they asked me if I could drive a truck, I said I grew up on a farm and can drive anything. Started out driving team in a "Cracker Box" GMC" for 12 cents a mile split. Tripled my take home pay over the factory job I had. Retired in 2006 after 42 years.

Sons Hero, Rideandrepair and Vaso.L Thank this.
