I'm curious because my dispatcher caked and asked if I felt that I was ready for my first super load. I asked the dimensions and he stated depending on which piece I get of the 3 it could be as much as 16 wide 15 tall and 85long and my weight will be as much as 90k gross. I know regardless ill have escorts, and I'll be rolling with our most senior driver that had hauled every type of trailer we have.

To date my largest loads have been 14'6" tall 11'6" wide and nothing longer than 78 ft

Depends on the State/Province you’re traveling through. If you haven’t, get the money straightened out first. It will take some time to move, and if something goes wrong, you could be sitting for a month waiting.

Stuff like detention time and whatnot. You want to get paid for every day you sit on that load.

For the most part, there’s no weekend travel. Police escort. Possible level one inspection every day in commie states. Night moves only across certain metro areas (and that’s a MAJOR PAIN if you’re on elogs). Quite a few drivers get a mileage rate and an hourly/daily rate.

Depending on the size of the load, in particular when it goes over say...17 ft tall, winter time, shorter days, holiday season...you could be on that load a month. Superloads don’t pay like regular loads.

I see, well I'm held to percentage of the load, but my understanding, this one in particular coming up is scheduled for 4 days but they think we should be able to it done in 3. Guess we will see, I haven't even been told if the safety guy will let me do it

Is that "loaded height" or "on the ground"?
What kind of trailer you loading it on? 86' long leads to a hundred questions: is it self supporting? Is it going to have to be on a steerable trailer? In some jurisdictions it MUST be. Who is going to steer if it is? And on n on n on it goes...

Lesson 1 of Superloads...NOTHING goes according to schedule.
Lesson 2 of Superlaods...when in doubt, see Lesson 1

Those findings are all on the ground. It's a tank that most likely will be on one of our extendable perimeter trailers like the one pictured. I found out yesterday that inside the company, they have their own designation on what a super load is. Tara basically anything that requires a pole car.

That answers a lot of questions, and just made this move infinitely simpler...
Fun trailers, hope you get a good steering operator. A good steerman makes these much easier...a poor one, not so much

My understanding is the trailer is not set up for a steerable rear. I won't know for sure till tomorrow when I see the setup, I know for sure I'm only getting a rear escort and a front pole car.
