1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Hey everyone, I am looking to get back to driving. I have a CDL A with tanker since 1998 but started driving class B trucks out of the driving school I went to and have 10 years driving garbage trucks and roll off trucks. Well about 5 years ago I had a knee injury that turned out to be or cause a back injury so I decided not to go back to driving garbage trucks and started doing my own thing (snow plowing) after it was all taken care of.

Now my problem is I have no OTR or class A experience since I got my CDL in 98, the trucks I drove were all split shift so I dont think I would have a problem shifting and probably pick up driving a trailer pretty quick, I have done a good amount of towing with my pickup, boats and landscaping trailers and did just fine (I know its not the same but at least it was something)

I have never had a DUI, my last ticket was 14 years ago (10 MPH over) and last accident was around 20 years ago

I am thinking I will need to start off at a company that offers a retraining program like CR England, CRST or someone with low pay and a contract to work for them for xx amount of months unless someone else could point me in the right direction.

I am located just outside of Boston Ma and have been looking for something local as well

    thanks
