No way, the man worked for it and deserves to be paid what he's due, in the same time frame as he had been paid.
If the company has no legitimate reason to not pay him, he should contact his State dept of labor and pursue it. They need to be held accountable. The fines levied against a company for this sort of thing can be substantial...

@clausland and @Bean Jr. said it right. Never roll over and let a company keep your money. If you get fired they have to pay you right away but if you quit they can take quite a bit of time to pay you. Don't give up.
As far as your medical goes, even if the company confiscates your medical card, you still have a valid medical. A company cannot cancel a medical card.
Go to your local Motor Vehicle office and ask for a copy.TripleSix, Swine hauler, Cattleman84 and 8 others Thank this. -

2) CDL/CLP exception. (i)(A) Beginning on January 30, 2015 and through June 21, 2021, a driver required to have a commercial driver's license under part 383 of this chapter, and who submitted a current medical examiner's certificate to the State in accordance with 49 CFR 383.71(h) documenting that he or she meets the physical qualification requirements of this part, no longer needs to carry on his or her person the medical examiner's certificate specified at §391.43(h), or a copy, for more than 15 days after the date it was issued as valid proof of medical certification.
(B) On or after June 22, 2021, a driver required to have a commercial driver's license or a commercial learner's permit under 49 CFR part 383, and who has a current medical examiner's certificate documenting that he or she meets the physical qualification requirements of this part, no longer needs to carry on his or her person the medical examiner's certificate specified at §391.43(h).
When a LEO pulls your CDL data, all that med cert info shows up in the computer. For me, I carry it anyway. In all likelihood all the OP needs to do though, is obtain a copy from the MRO that did it or obtain a copy from the State DMV. -

Some trucking companies can be sneaky, and dishonest! Sometimes is either loose the money or take them to court!
-
The medical card IS NOT THEIRS, it is only issued to you and your property and by law is only tied to you. YOU can keep it no matter what they say.
Here is one important reason, once it is registered to the state your CDL is issued out of, the company can't revoke it or demand you give it up.
I don't know if you are 1099 or not but I would file with the state labor board, they can't hold the paycheck when you leave. -
300$$ is a lot of money to be charged for a phy. card when you drive to nearest DL. office ask if they have your last med. card on file from co. you left from if yes you are good till you get the one from next co. you go to work for, if its a good co. you may only have to pay less than a c/note for the new med. long form?
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
That is one bogus company, That's a good reason to take the truck home, When you get paid they get the truck. As far as the medical card, do you have the long form, that's a new one , they are really jacking you around,
