you can do whatever you want to do as long as the federal regulations and your company allow it.

 

Go for it or buy a small inverter. I'm new myself and run hard. 600miles per day minimum (when I'm not stuck held up at a shipper or waiting on dispatch) and I still play videogames/watch movies nightly.
Not everyone needs the same amount of sleep. If I can drive during my awake hours I only need 6 hours of sleep. If I'm having a hard time being up when my internal clock wants to then I need a full 8.
The trick is dont drive from truck stop to truck stop. I only stop for my 30 and the occasional bathroom break. I work 10 to 12 hours a day. Make the most of your time. Get that pretrip DONE. When you fuel, get it over with. I can pump 100+gallons of fuel, wash windows and piss in under 15mins.

 

If I had to be a slave to be a truck driver I'd drive the truck up a recruiters ###. Sure loads need to be on time. We are here to work. However this job robs us of so much of our lives I wouldn't encourage anyone to stop doing what they enjoy provided they stay safe.

This is a JOB in the CIVILLIAN world. Were not mad max style soldiers. We take beer, panties, pills and sugar from one place to another for dollars.

 

My partner has an Xbox in our truck and he runs by slightly pressing the fuel petal with a load lock.

I cannot charge my laptop in the truck without plugging an inverter straight to the truck batteries which my division will not sign on to right now.

So I just do without gaming while I am on the road. It sucks, I know there are days where you have hours, maybe even a day or two to kill. But like another comment said, I like making money.

Later on I will have my games in a truck with an APU for sure!

 

I ran a HP 9033 laptop that ran off the 12 volt cigarette outlet. Had no problems playing World of Warcraft. Some where in there is a boss with 12million hp

 

My younger brothers love that game. I tried playing and couldn't get into it. I like either single player or full PVP. WoW is like a hybrid and just can't get into it.

 

That one of the problems with games like that in my opinion. They all bunch up to the point you can't tell what's going on. It detaches you from the fantasy of what's happening and it just becomes about the numbers.

There's quite a bit of skill that goes into that game, I'm not knocking it. It's just not my thing. I need the emersion to keep going back to it.
