Thats very possible, but you cant make a blanket statement like that. It really depends where you are picking up and dropping off. I have made deliveries to construction sites that required steel toes, hard hat, orange vest, and safety glasses, just to enter the site

Where is the fuel coming from? There shouldnt be any fuel on the handle. I dont get it.
-
It's on the pump handle.
-
Strange, I have never encountered that, possibly because I fuel at the same place every day.

Comfortable shoes are best. Something that provides a little bit of support (not sandals) but still lets you get feedback from the pedals (not boots). Once you get comfortable driving the truck, you'll be better equipped to choose what you prefer.
Sneakers are probably best. -
After two weeks of using the same gloves to fuel, use the squeegee to clean windows, pop the hood to check oil and other fluid levels, checking lugs on my tires, pre trip, etc etc....
My gloves get dirty, like I said they are about 1.75 a pair so tossing them isn't an issue...
And 2 weeks isn't set in stone I've never actually kept track just used it as a reference point... -
Ok, that makes more sense, I thought you used them strictly for pumping fuel

i wear Red Wing boots, and i usually wear Dickies work pants and short sleeved shirts during the warmer weather. in winter time, the same Red Wing boots, then thermal socks, and blue jeans, with the Dickies shirt. i usually only will wear a thermal under shirt, as if i wear the whole thermal underwear, i get very hot.
as for school bring along a nice but not expensive work gloves, steel toed boots or work shoes, and a pair of running shoes for when you are off duty. like say a time when they have an open house for recruiters.schools generally require boots, NEVER sneakers or running shoes.!
don't go too crazy right now buying expensive boots, as you can wreck them in school. buy a wally-world brand.
when you start driving, buy a real good, long lasting pair. again, i like Red Wings.Grijon Thanks this. -
when i fuel, sometimes the pump leaks, this is where you get fuel on the gloves.
what i do is recycle my work gloves. i buy a new pair for loading/unloading, then, when they get worn or the seams split, i use them for fueling, and then toss them when they get way too dirty. i buy the el cheapo work gloves, as i see no need to spend too much money, for anything.HalpinUout Thanks this.
