You have to be creative sometimes in order to keep a solid internet connection. I gave up on the truck stop connections within my first few months driving. T-Mobile has awesome service, and I use a second line that has a 10gb limit as my main source. I'm also always looking for places with free wifi that I can park near, especially when bobtailing. For example, Ruby Tuesday's has awesome internet. Park within 60 yards, and you have free wifi. Huddle House, Lowes, Home Depot, all have free wifi.
If I'm about to drop a load right before taking a ten, I'll bobtail out of the receiver, go to wherever has free wifi, then go back after my ten to pick up an empty.
My main T-Mobile line has unlimited data, but can only be used on the device. I have a Galaxy Note 2, which is almost the size of a tablet, and stronger than some pc's. So I'll use it to stream football games, youtube, and so on. You can also hook the Galaxy Note 2 to a TV if you wanna watch whatever in a bigger screen.
Here is an example...

Back when I was OTR I used PDAnet with verizon. I never went over the limit of my "unlimited" data...
But I did not stream any TV or movies. Just skype and a few youtube videos.

I use my phone and tether it. We have unlimited data and are not renewing our contract so we won't lose our plan. I've never had a problem tendering for internet.

Verizon mifi is the best one. Make sure to get the external antennae for it though. I also use public wifi to watch movies when available. Right now I am parked at a food lion parking lot using my mifi card to post this.

Verizon has done very well for me. Keeps a fairly consistent connection while going down the road, even in the middle of nowhere. Works really well when you're stopped, which is rare for me anymore.

Phone as Wifi Hotspot through Verizon. And I'm locked into unlimited Data Plan.

I had a Verizon mifi. I'd certainly recommend it, but with a mifi, you really want to be mindful of your data usage.

And stay away from sprint yea u have unlimited data but there speeds are terrible. Most carriers have a discount plan with phone companies. Like with Schneider the discount is 17% from Vzw
