I tether on my Droid Bionic from Verizon. I'm on the old unlimited data plan still. I use the FoxFi app which is a 1 time purchase price of $7 and then it just works. If I'm in an area with 4G coverage my internet speeds are faster than the cable internet at my home.

I watch a lot of TV and movies on Netflix. Last month I racked up about 60-70GB in usage. Had I been on a tiered plan I would be spending hundreds of dollars on overage charges.

I was using Millenicom and had good luck with it. They had several options for plans with one being unlimited for 60 a month. I however just cancelled it not because of service and coverage but merely I just never have the time to use it anyway and the little time I do get I just use my smart phone. If I do end up doing a 34 I just watch TV instead or go pick up a 3 for 20 movie deal instead. Just couldn't justify the 60 a month anymore for using it maybe 2 times in a month.

Don't pay to tether your phone. Use FoxFi.

I have the iphone 4s so the app would need to come from the app store. Im not going to jailbreak/root just to add a 3rd party app. I did that to my droid and it was never the same after.

I have my Sprint droid tethered to my laptop, no overages as Sprint has no data limit on the phone and I use PDanet to tether, the only time I have speed issues is when I am roaming on Verizon, they throttle your service when roaming on thier towers.

So how is the coverage with Sprint?

$110 per month is very good for unlimited data.
