An unattended trailer is a dropped trailer that is not at a secure location. But if the truck is still attached at that location it's not unattended. That's the difference if your referring to cargo theft if someone broke in and stole some or all of the cargo. I went through this I dropped a trailer at a truck stop with rolls of fabric didn't think anyone would mess with fabric wrong stole about $4000 worth I paid for now if I would have said the truck was hooked to the trailer insurances would have paid of course I found that out after I said it was dropped

    Good lawyer say:

"It wasn't unattended, the thieves were there"

Every time I shower, do laundry, use the rest room, blah blah blah the trailer is unattended unless there's a co-driver.

take unatteneded for what it's worth

Your taking it in a literal term. The dot doesn't require someone to be at the or insight of the vehicle at all times except some hazmat loads so insurance companies can't expect that.So what insurance companies are referring to is a dropped trailer if the truck is hooked it's not conceded unattended even if your not there.thats how it was told by insurance to me

when I have run as a team certain freighr requires one driver to watch the trailer or stand by while the other does their stuff. some freight doesn't require it.

Did "God" create drop yards? Or did actual human beings create them, build them, and maintain them?
"God" created the earth? Then why don't "God" mow my yard?

Because He's God. That's why He invented the lawnmower & yard rake.
