Dieselboss is my rep and everything for me has worked just as theyve said, both on here and in personal communications for my acct. You have the fault code add on so your cost per month is higher than mine, but the equipment thing sounds fishy to me too.
What ELD do you use?

If the fault codes doesn't work, then there are 2 choices. One (1) create a profile in your account WITHOUT the fault code add-on and move the unit into that profile. No more being charged for fault codes. Or, or if engine fault code analysis is something that you value, then hammer on your rep to get it working.Accidental Trucker Thanks this. -

I've read and reread this thread a few times now and I'm still not sure what to get as a lot of these appear to be used in multi truck operations. So my question is which one is best for a single truck operation? Don't need anything to download to the office or track the truck remotely. Don't need to send fault codes. receive load info. I just need something that keeps my log DOT compliant without any extra bells and whistles Suggestions?

It can track my truck as well, which is handy if I forget it's parked in the driveway.Timin770, D.Tibbitt, DannyB and 1 other person Thank this. -
I run a single truck started gig in July '21. Began with ELD called One Step, it was horrendous ELD would not stay connected to phone, customer support was none existent. Their Customer service troubleshooting consisted of log out, log back in, of course had no effect on problem. Boys at Wyoming POE suggested to turn it off and run paper remainder of trip and replace it with different brand. Owner ordered KeepTruckin installed about middle of August '21 worked perfect until mid October '21 then every time I went thru Bellville,Ks headed southbound it would automatically switch my duty status from Driving to On Duty even though driving lock screen still showed my driving clock just like it never changed. Hence if I ran majority of my 11 hours driving I would end up with a violation for going over my eleven because it would not show up on any clock until next morning. First time it happened earned me my 1st log book violation ever. After the 3rd time figured out where it was happening but KeepTruckin insisted they didn't have a replacement available. In December I refused to run ELD again and went on paper logs. 3 days later owner filed for extension to run paper with FMCSA within 3 hours received email from KeepTruckin with tracking number on replacement ELD that shipped that day.
Even with the problem with KeepTruckin I would go with them again because it is an easy to learn clean system. I would not wait again though to shut it off and run paper logs. If a driver knowingly runs with defective ELD any violation could easily fall back on him. Have a problem shut ELD down, run paper, have owner file for extension. -
When I started reading this thread, Keep Trucking seemed to be the clear winner. Then as I read on, it sounds like the quality of customer support has dropped significantly. Of course, it looks like that's a theme for all of them. Didn't see much about the Samsara that was bad. Might check them out.
