Where have you gotten that info? Is there some documentation on line that some have over looked?

How do you figure? I've got three trucks older than 2000 and my rates went down drastically this go round. That insurance going up business is not accurate.

I'm working with Big Road, I'm using the free app right now trying to get used to it. The paid service is 25 a month and includes the hardware.

Company is converting to these beauties:

Full touchscreen compatibility, voice commands, message reading and really simple, straight-forward interface. It's the first system I've actually used to keep track of my hours, but it's saved me 10-20 minutes a day in working the loose leaf sheets. I get more time to drive, less to think and be paranoid about rules and deadlines, and in the end, I'd recommend elogs to anyone wanting to keep a legal book.

Careful, you'll get roasted for giving up your freedoms, and told you aren't a real trucker because you need a babysitter

That's fine. These super truckers are either going to calm down and adapt, or get pushed out of the industry. There isn't enough of them to make any significant change... and they are focusing on entirely the wrong issue. It's not the electronic log that's the problem, it's the Hours of Service.

Is that a hard mounted version? We use Omnitracs as well, we have the Samsung tablets connected by Bluetooth to the trucks. Each driver is issued his own tablet, we are able to keep them at home with us. I keep mine in a side pocket of my lunchbag, fits perfectly.
We've been using them for almost 3 years now.

Yes, it's mounted directly to the dash. I prefer that to the older units that aren't. No need to dig around stuff in the back to find the unit, and you can constantly see your countdowns.

Fair enough. If drivers want to use them, that should be their choice. I personally prefer to spend under $5.00 a month for paper, but there are things that I would spend my money on, that others would consider a waste.
