What ever happened to 57’ trailers?

    Dart/fleetline had a bunch of them when I was there in the late 80s and early 90s .
    They were supposed to stay down south but a few wandered up north and I heard that got expensive .
    One of those orphans made it all the way to st.paul and became a storage trailer there.

    There are a few SWIFT and Werner variants in Montana and Idaho running around as 3 axles. Frito Lay runs them all over for line haul. The post office was exp. with them as line haul trailers also, but I think they go rid of them.

    Years ago when I was at dart i called in empty one morning from Lawrence mass and punched in my trailer number , was immediately transferred to dispatch who wanted to know wtf I was doing in mass with a 53 footer ...ooopppps lol

    i saw quite a few of these while i was doing OTR in northern californication. This was about 4 years ago.

    i believe these are legal in most states west of the Mississippi?
