    You two are funny.

Back a long time ago at a ham swap there was some smarta** kid explaining to his friends about some mixer theory formula as if he knew all about it, next to him stood some "old guy" who listened to all of it. After the kid was finished with his long dissertation about what did what and why with a bunch of abstract examples sprinkled in, the old guy turned to him and said something like this 'son, theory is alright but sometimes in our RF world things don't work as they are supposed to ... when it doesn't we are dumbfounded ... we may not get it is supposed to be that way. The theory may give an insight into how it works but RF is a creature that isn't always predictable and doesn't like to follow some formula or theory' - the guy was William Orr W6SAI. AND I wasn't the kid but was there.

Coax theory I learned about is alright to apply to some things but I forgot a lot of it and don't care to go back over it, When I was playing around with EME, I wanted the best I could find so I went searching for info (days before the Internet thing) and I was at Belden one day asking questions for the heck of it. I was told by one engineer that in the case of EME, yes all of it matters but for HF work it doesn't matter so for the CB world it doesn't matter a lot of details like what dielectric is use and so on

All this is interesting reading I guess...But just about everything I know about CB Radio, I learned myself, (sometimes the hard way) and I know as much about CB Radio as I need to know, since I have no problems what so ever making contacts with everyone I hear...Guess I'm doing something right.

People want to make it out to sound like Rocket Science, but in reality any 6th grader should be able to put together a decent CB Station with little if any back ground knowledge in radio communications...

...by the way "Dude"...I have levitated a Frog...It's no big deal...When you have mastered levitating something like a M1 Abrams Tank, or visited the Dark Side of the Moon with a Pidgin on your head, then you have bragging rights...

Actually the Radio Handbook has a bunch of stuff omitted.

By the way, it is close to rocket science ... just saying ...
