Is there a decree that all information needs to be on the citation/report? If not, why would they bother to "write up" officers that failed to include such information? Why not just give them, doughnuts? Can they fill out reports/citations in crayon? If so, what color? :biggrin_25522:

Hey DB, are you allowed to abbreviate anything other than state
ie: pre trip ispection or post trip inspection as "PTI" or load check as "LC"? I've been writing those out for years because I thought only the state could be abbr. but I have heard others abbr. the afore mentioned words. Thx.

None of the activity descriptions you have been writing are required by the FMCSA, so the abbreviations used are not relevant. Company policy may dictate otherwise.

well, it could be a result in loss of pay for a suspension if you have other other things either with it or in the past. It could lead to further disciplinary action. Not sure why it would deny me insurance coverage, it has nothing to do with me operating a vehicle. Yes when we get charged with administrative charges we have tio get a lawyer to represent us as well. Can it affect employment with another Agency, yes. It's something that guys that jump from one Agency to another would have disclosed in the personnel file.

Trying to compare that to driver regulations is apples and oranges. Two entirely different things. JUst like I had a driver ask me if I have to get a medical card to do my job. Nope, I'm not regulated by the FMCSR's, sorry. I have other obstacles to perform my job but I don't carry a medical card for my job.

    .

Trying to compare my job and yours, we could could play what if this and what if that all day. Remember the old saying "If it's and buts were candy and nuts then everyday would be Christmas." The long and short of it is I am not regulated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the FMCSR's, If I want to drive a truck I will be. If you don't like having to play by the rules, there is plenty of other jobs that do not require you to correctly fill out a log book. Quit beating your head on the wall, your only going to get a headache.

Who regulates the decree that you must include all information on a citation. Or else, you will be written up?

My point was that we cannot be compared... see your orginal post.
