Not necessarily disagreeing with this, but with similar concerns I ended up taking a slightly different approach.
There are a lot of these no-name bigger ones (~50 qt, size of a big cooler) on Amazon around the $300 range. I bought one in 2018 and purchased the extended warranty for only $20-30 (I don't recall now), assuming it would break. It lasted maybe a year, year and a half. Cashed in the warranty no problem (did not have to ship it back, they issued me an Amazon gift card for the full amount). The replacement was a little cheaper actually (different brand) so I actually came out ahead. The second one (another no-name brand) is still working (although I took a local job and have not used it in the big truck for a while, we still use it occasionally in the car on family trips). I bought another extended warranty on the second one for 2-3 more years for same cheap price, worth it IMO.
What freezer or refrigerator do you have in your truck, and how do you run it.

I’m talking more the crappy Coleman electric stuff vs a $300 version. A lot of the less expensive ones have some quality components in them. I would not go buy an ARB fridge freezer either. Way to much for me lolol. Good to hear they honor the warranty also.

I just put a Frigidaire 3.2 Double door in my cabinet (took doors off cabinet) true freezer.

Snomaster 85l - 90qt Dual Zone Expedition fridge/freezer. Paid a lot for it. But to me it's worth it. 2.75 inches of insulation. It'll pay for itself.
