What fuel Milage are you getting in VOLVO VNL 860

So... nothing. You might say its adds up, but unless the results are random and double blind, they are meaningless as old people saying "we didn't have kids like this when I was young". It could frustrate you but your individual minor result could be any of a million things being different.

 

There were tons of people who swore about better mpg with trailer tails, super singles, see through mudflaps, extended fairings and bunch of other stuff, yet everyone including megas is back to just basic old setups.
We gotta give Air Dog few more years to see how it holds up

 

No so sure about super singles and megas. They save weight, and I still see them new on mega trucks.
Not to mention extended fairings is still a thing.
Some tech helps, weight reduction is a big one when you want to load more weight. They still pay more for lighter trailers too.

 

Mega carriers aren't back to basic old setups. The problem is when they get damage its not worth it for them to repair. For example trailer fairings are almost $2,000 to replace. When we take them off we just leave em off. My air dog been on over a year. Very impressed with it.

 

Oh i also have the wheel covers but only gained .1 with them. Running a OPS change my oil once a year maybe 2 times now.

 

The Volvo / Mack engines make peak torque at 900-1000 rpm or so. The use of 2.28 rears and the creeper gears in the I-shift allows them to cruise at 1000 rpm or a little under and still have startability. The new compound turbo setup is allowing guys to run a low HP / high torque engine. The guy I referenced earlier works with Mack and has been on the leading edge of the mpg game for years, he’s the one who says his trucks run smoother at 1000 and under while cruising with the Air Dog.

 

The only thing you've accurately said about Volvos in this thread is how ignorant you are about them.

I am not going to be ever convinced that there will be some 3rd party invention of some chemical reaction auxiliary system, prepping the existing fuel to some magically elevated BTU efficiency levels, so that the difference will be of any significance.
The Mother Nature does not let herself be cheated on energy that easy.
