CDL tests are supposed to be given in English with the person taking the test in English but I've seen where people have brought an "interpreter" to take a test and they passed with no problem. The last time I did a full renewal of my CDL, I complained to the SoS manager that the interpreter was actually giving the answers to the person (I understood what they were saying to each other) and she just said "that's alright".
There is no regulation that says this is illegal. There is no English only requirement under 95 p D, the only reference to English is under 97 which requires an amateur to Id themselves in English and I think that can be challenged in court because English isn't an official language of the country.
What gives?!?!
