Just jump on the ferry from Anacortes to Seward or someplace and go around?

Probably blow the budget, but it might be fun and look what it would do for your fuel mileage! Lol

Well, you play with the cards that you have. My heart issues are my own dang fault! I spent years eating crap and now am paying dearly for it. Let me tell you an M.I. hurts like hell! Diabetes threw me for a loop, when I learned I was insulin dependent I stayed depressed for a long time. I have four primary areas where I am blessed. (1) I have a network of friends that are always coming by or contacting me. All I have to do is say help and somebody will come help. Then as an outcrop of this Keri entered my life. (2) Keri has been my rock. NO! I don't think of Keri as a romantic interest. What she has done is awaken the parent in me, and I now think of her as my family. (3) I also have been blessed with some great medical providers both with the VA as well as the civilian world. The Intervention Heart doc that opened up those blockages is a first-rate guy. (4) I was also lucky to have had some great business opportunities as well as some property that has skyrocketed in value. These investments are allowing me to live a great life. I said four things, but I could say 5 and include all you super truckers in this forum even that guy that lives up in Maryland who hates Meat Loaf! (yes I saw that)

I do not think Dave would inclined to book the load to the cross dock barge freight forwarder in Kent area....... The bribe would have to be significant..... oops typo SIGNIFICANT.

The trips to Alaska that I noticed did not pay enough to buy my time for the round trip. Running a box, there is not much freight going south. You have to plan on deadheading it, and be pleasantly surprised if you don't. Couple of years back, trips to Alaska were paying about a week and a half of revenue. It's about 2 weeks round trip.

I have no idea. I assumed that the rate would be compensatory to the time and expense and hassle involved. The scenery to go across Canada and up through the Yukon versus driving to Cities in the south would be a big carrot to me though.
