The truck has stopped for the day 619.8 miles South of the frozen tundra.

Unfortunately we're still in the frozen tundra.

Look at the whole picture. Dryvan Loads from here to Cali or Az. are paying $2.00-$2.50 pm. My Dry Van avg. right now has been $2.85-$3.25 pm all miles. Not bad, at 3000 miles per week. I’ve noticed most Flat bedders deliver and reload the next day. I do that more myself these days. The real way to get ahead with a Van is getting reloaded and down the road a bit the same day, or at least Deadhead and be ready to reload early the next day. I did $11250, in 8 days, 3640 miles last time out. $3.25 pm all miles, home to home. In the past, I’d be happy with $2.00 pm. Won’t be long till it’s closer to the $2.00 mark again. Hopefully it’ll stay above $2.50. Between fuel and inflation it should. I wouldn’t bet on it though. I think Flatbeds just slow this time of year. Van usually is too. Reefer too till springtime. Once springtime Produce starts running, Reefer rates go up, and Van rates too, since Reefers are busy chasing Produce. Everything’s out of whack right now. It won’t last much longer.

Our old house in Detroit had a coal room. The original coal furnace had been converted to gas. It looked like a giant Robot from Lost in space. Lol. Gravity furnace, no blower, had a huge ring inside, with 5” flames, big round ducts, wrapped in asbestos and plaster. That thing was scary. According to my Grandmother if we turned it up too high, the house would blow up!! I believed her. Lay awake at night thinking about the explosion. Lol.

I am gonna brag a little bit. I have only been on my own since November. Today I was contacted by Covenant Solutions to join their power only account for the Dollar General in Zanesville OH. I thought it would take way longer to receive a golden offer like this. I am overcome with joy and dollar signs. I told the girlfriend to quit her job as I will now be able to support the entire household. Speaking of households, we are changing that as well now that I can afford the newly constructed house on the land I always wanted. Will also build a big garage for the truck. I hope I can stay humble and still speak to all of you peasants….er I mean less fortunate…..crap…..I mean “other” drivers.

You got some of that light green leaf like my buddy sent me from Colorado Springs. Stuff is mellow, but delusional isn't the word.

Just was out working in the yard.

Got kinda cold last night. Still have frost on the ground at 1530. Sun sets in 90 minutes or so.
