Not snow, but ice this morning. I86 eastbound shut down around 7 this morning by Seagull Bay, because a fuel tanker decided to take a scenic detour through the median across the eastbound lane, and parking with the trailer across both travel lanes......

Hint: an inch of ice on top of black top should cause some concern...

That S curve at Seagull bay can get pretty nasty... Little bit of ice, add in the wind that barrels through there. Then couple it all with a little too much speed... Bad things can happen.

Bad things DO happen.... I told the redhead before I left it was going to be bad at Seagull, and there it was.

The moral of the story is to pay attention to what the locals are doing... I was putting along at 45 mph....

Question. Since this appears to be humorous thread on snow and ice driving, could someone possibly give tips on doing that? I don't have a trucking job yet but I may have one soon. Thanks.

    austinmike and Lepton1 Thank this.

I prefer to stay between Otay Mesa and San Diego when it's snowing, that's the best way.

Ahhh. Well, I'm from eastern NC where we can get anything from rain to freezing rain to sleet to snow and repeat that process at least once during the winter. I would probably be pulling whatever I could to rack up miles for the first year at least. Dave, why you hate snow so much?

    Lepton1 Thanks this.
