There's a lot more " old iron " out there than people realize. A lot sitting and rusting. The one thing it all has in common is that's it's old. I sure wouldn't pay any kind of exuberant price.
I mean I still embrace the television set that's the size of a washing machine, but times change.
What if it Snows?

I just want it to restore something different. Have done a ton of cars, bikes, even a plane but never a truck and I thought it would be a cool one to do because when I get sick of it someone will buy it. It's almost rust free which is nice and it is 100% there, nothing missing. It last ran in the early 2000s and ran fine when it was parked from what the guy told me so I imagine I could get away with a inframe on the small cam Cummins. It's got a sleeper that is just that....a sleeper lol, there is no extra room in it.Farmerbob1 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

I think it would be good for a hobby truck, but no way a working truck.Cattleman84 and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

I've been calling Kitty for 4 hours. He was laying out front, and rolled and rolled pretty much all the way around my house and the strippers. Then wouldn't come in.
So I started a large skillet of Dave, I turn around, he's laying on the floor and the door is open.Farmerbob1, thelushlarry and Cattleman84 Thank this. -
Oh exactly! It would be a gigantic car to me to take the family around on lil rides on the weekends, just cool because it's old. I would never consider trying to put it to work other than maybe towing the race car down to Sebring because that would be different but even then that's hobby not real work. Sad part is if I get it and after I've had my fun with it some idiot will buy it to try to make money because that's the way trucks are supposed to be lol. No ac, no power steering, no front brakes. (Those three things will all change because I would like it to be half decent to drive). It is a really cool, really big toy at this point never to try to make money again.Cattleman84, MartinFromBC and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Just so much work is the problem.
I'm even selling my 52 Plymouth I've had for over a decade. Slowly phasing out all my older heavy equipment, and in time all my older trucks to. Replaced most of my loaders, dozers, excavators, and other equipment. Most of my trailers are new-ish now, or being replaced with new ones. Trucks were my last sort of hold out, it was hard to let go of them old W900 trucks, but I am embracing the future finally. I have 6 new Mack trucks already, then 2 weeks ago ordered 7 more new Macks....i called back about 5 days after I ordered the 7, and said no I changed my mind, make it 13 instead of just 7.Lepton1, Farmerbob1, Cattleman84 and 2 others Thank this. -
They have some early 60's Vettes and SS Impala's and Nova's and such in the showroom of the local Chevy dealer. And they are museum pieces, period.
I can stand on the 'maro, and the computer kicks everything into race, almost pulls the wheels off the ground, shifts at 6500, and it's about all you can do to hang on.Vic Firth, dwells40 and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
A car you wont drive is like a woman you wont F***, no point in keeping it around.
Only museum piece I would consider having around is something along the lines of a WWI era bike something with exposed rocker arms and the such. hen it would get placed in a display diorama like folks do with a plastic model visible from the Living room. Would be kinda like a trophy buck. But I could break it out for parades and shows.Lepton1, thelushlarry, MartinFromBC and 2 others Thank this. -
I would like a WWII era P51 Mustang to fly around in.otterinthewater and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

I have a Porsche 993 that I drive ALL the time. People always ask why I drive it so much because mileage and value and all that crap (car has 140,000 miles on it.... millions in Porsche speak lol) A. It's a air cooled Porsche so they run for ever with very low maintenance costs B. Having a car and not driving to save miles is like having a hot girlfriend and not ####ing her so her ##### will be tighter for the next dude lol.
