It really doesn't take a whole lot of food to satisfy me anyway. Besides, I still wanna lose about 15 or 20 more pounds of weights regardless. I'm 5'7" and weight around 160. I will be totally happy to get to 145.![]()
What if it Snows?

Usually there's a bar and grill within walking distance of truck stops.dtj12231989 Thanks this.

It will also depend on the kind of trucking you are doing. Truck stops in cities closest to grocery stores fill up parking very quickly. In Atlanta, the inner city truck stops seem to be full 24/7 for example.
If you are doing a trucking job that requires physical labor like mine, you will need more calories every day to keep yourself fueled. A lot of my pickups are in strip malls, and those often have a grocery store, so I can park in the back, do my pick up, then walk to the front and buy some decent food... sometimes.
But if you just doing OTR dry van or OTR reefer to warehouses and such, it will be harder because those are in industrial warehouse districts.. and you will be parking in truck stops out in the middle of nowhere, or at rest areas that will have only vending machines, if even that. The trade off there is you probably wont be doing as much work and wont need as many calories.Dave_in_AZ and dtj12231989 Thank this. -
I was thinking about that. I eat like a pig with not a lot of exercise or manual labor and I still stay around 160. Been like like that for two or three months. Beats all I have ever seen. I'm also thinking about starting to do push ups, sit ups, pull ups, and other exercises to build my upper body strength back up.

Back when I drove much more frequently, I had a habit of sliding into the loading dock at grocery stores in the evening, and then walk around and do the shopping. Never had a problem. One time at Costco they looked at me funny, but that was about it.speedyk, Dave_in_AZ, TravR1 and 1 other person Thank this.

That thought crossed my mind! LOL. Im sure it works sometimes. I drive behind a lot of strip malls for pick ups and often there is space for you to just parallel park along the curb back there for a few hours. At least just check Google satellite so you don't make the trip for nothing only to find it's one of those weird malls where you have to drive in from the front, and with the dumpsters where they are at just no room at all.
Dumpsters are the biggest headache driving behind those places because the garbage driver gets in a hurry and doesn't leave them back along the curb, he just drops them and leaves, leaving about 1-4 feet behind the dumpster that can't be used for anything.Dave_in_AZ and dtj12231989 Thank this. -
