Okay. 850 miles into the trip there is no snow. Temp was 41F to 63F today. There was a lot of rain, which is good, because it washed all the salt, ash, and calcium chloride off of Casper, and spread it around California. There has been no Bigfoot either, yet. There was a moron in a Central Refrigerated truck, a W900 with a baby Cascadia deer bumper ( which is just wrong on so many levels I can't list them all ), and several flatbeds attempting to back up. Flatbeds should just stop trying to back into spots. Just park on the shoulder and put your triangles out.
Roads are bare and dry up here now, but this is an example of the accumulations they have every year... and this is actually melted down a little:
1100 miles into the trip, and there's no snow yet. But there is severe rain & wind. No Bigfoot, and I thought he'd be in that fog bank over the summit for sure. OH GOD. Fortunately using superior navigation skills I have found a place with to go box and coffee.
You better get the hell out of here dave. There's a big one blowing in thursday night. 700 ft FL./2 ft new snow.
