Random question for you all......

Anybody have experience with deaf cats?

Wife wants to adopt a 5 year old, blue eyed white cat that is deaf from birth. She had a deaf cat when she was young. Any thoughts from those with more cat knowledge than I?

 

Well, my experience is that cats don't listen to a dang thing you say, so what's the loss?
But @Dave_in_AZ might be a better source.

 

Don't know, but you will more than likely not even know the difference when the cat won't come to you when you call it. You may know when you open a can of tuna and no cat on top of you, but I'm betting the cat is extremely visual far more than a normal cat.

 

Wife says I'm not to get one of these....


Even though she does see the humor.

Seems he gets vocal when he looses track of the people or other critters. E-mailed the shelter to see if he knows to look for flashlight beams or "The Red DOT!".

 

Cats can smell a open Tuna Can from another Living Floor so there’s no need to call them

 

Hey @okiedokie we got some of that stuff you like play in outside Dayton_WA haven't heard what blue wood has gotten.

 

Cats are stubborn. There’s no way you can teach it sign language. No way.

 

They're in good shape. 3 ft base & 2ft new.@ 24°f. I'll be making a loop through the Ho, WA in feb/mar. Thanks for the heads up.
