Sanity can be described as a spectrum. We all should all fall in the sanity spectrum someplace.

 

Tips straight downhill, feet together, knees bent, and someone following to catch my cowboy hat. Hope your not in the front line of seats out front the lodge when I come to a stop.

Here is what bothers me the most about this. I also think my comment is not too political either. I read this in another place but I 100% agree with it. What do we tell the family of the next person locked up or snatched? When a government, I don't care who the President is, starts to negotiate to win release by freeing dangerous people it puts hundreds if not thousands of US citizens all over the world at risk. My son-in-law and I were talking about this subject late last night. If this basketball player did bring contraband into Russia she got what was deserved. What if however she was targeted as a high-profile American Citizen just for the purpose of getting that dangerous thug released? I'm sorry for her family, but when you leave the shores of this country you do leave your constitutional rights behind. It is a risk that comes with international travel. I am 100% positive this WILL happen again and that prospect makes me sick to my stomach!

 

Just to avoid anybody thinking I am attacking the current President, please allow me to talk briefly about something that happened when I was about 2 years old. Dwight Eisenhower was still President when Francis Gary Powers was shot down while flying a U2 over the USSR. As I understand it some of the files of that incident are still sealed. To this day there are those in the CIA that still believe he did that on purpose. He was traded for a KGB agent that had not been fully interviewed by the FBI. Powers later died after a Helicopter crash after a mechanic improperly installed a new fuel gauge that was misread causing him to run out of fuel. Kind of reminds me of something my UASF 1st SGT told me. "Things sometimes are NOT as they appear".
