Well buddy, I guess you're about to feel even smaller. Because that's Spanish, my 2nd language that I studied in college. Not Latin.

Poder = To be able to

Leer = To Read

I conjugated Poder with the tu, which is the informal version of "you". Spanish has an informal "you" and a formal "you". I chose the informal version because we are on a trucking forum shooting the ####. If I was speaking to a teacher, someone at a business conference, etc. etc. I would have conjugated it in the informal version of you.

Therefore, I conjugated Poder as "Puedes".

When you put two verbs back to back, the first one gets conjugated and the second one stays in the "infinitive" form. Therefore, Leer stays as Leer and I don't have to conjugate that verb because it was preceded by a verb (Poder) right before I used that.

So,

Puedes Leer?

Is Spanish for "Can you read?"

That's not Latin there buddy. For future reference, you know how everyone on this forum likes to talk about "Steering Wheel Holders", "Flip Flop Wearers", "Door Slammers", etc. etc. and how they can't just use Google Maps blindly, even though it is a great and valuable tool if it is used properly and with common sense?

Since you don't speak a second language, just so you know, it's the same with Google Translate. It is a wonderful and very valuable tool, but you can't just blindly follow it. You have to use common sense and while just like Google Maps, it'll give the gist of what's going on, it's up to you to have the knowledge of how to navigate that tool.

I came to this thread. I made a comment about the band U2, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix.

Opus replied to ME and made a snarky comment about "just finding out about who the other band members are in U2" and the extra snarky comment of "do you know Jimi Hendrix is dead". When I SPECIFICALLY said in my post that I never paid attention to who was in U2 besides Bono and that the guitarist of U2 couldn't hold a candle to Clapton and Hendrix. That was a troll comment towards me and I said NOTHING to Opus when I came into this thread, he came at me first.

So after Opus replied with his snarky comments towards me, I replied to him what I just wrote to you in the last paragraph, followed by ending it with asking Opus if he could read.

Opus then replies to me, saying it "must make me feel small" to reply to him in Latin, when he has Google Translate.

So I replied back to Opus that I was writing in Spanish, not Latin, and that since he doesn't speak a second language, that it's in his best interest to use Google Translate like he uses Google Maps when driving a semi truck. Great tools, but don't follow them blindly.

And now YOU, @D.Tibbitt are coming at me with comments about me trolling. WHEN I ORIGINALLY CAME INTO THE THREAD WRITING A COMMENT ABOUT U2 THAT HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OTHER FORUM MEMBER!

And it's kind of rich that Tibbitt is accusing me of trolling, when Tibbit literally sent me a selfie of himself in another thread wanting to fight me over the fact that I said Nebraska needs more truck parking. And then Tibbitt private messaged me telling me to come and fight him (I'll give Reo my password if he wants it, he can look into my PM's they are still there).

Whatever, I like Dave's threads on this forum, I'll just leave this thread for now. Again keep in mind I did nothing wrong, I literally wrote a comment about the band U2 and then other forum members started replying to me with snarky comments first, when I never even interracted with them.
