Man speaks from experience. Was buying a Camry with my daughter from Chandler Buick one Saturday afternoon long ago. She checking out the car, me working on the salesman, when siren and the pursued dude flew down Broadway headed south. Kinda fast presentation, so he whacks a turn around (in front of the cruiser coming at him from south" and shows us the other side going back. I asked salesman if this just happened on Saturdays. He said no, fairly common in mid week. They will run him out on to the interstate and AR State Police will pop a cap on him and halt this xxxx.
So, we bought, daughter write him a check. Told him she would call him tomorrow after she had seen her banker and it was OK to deposit. He replied fine, AR has some of the harshest "bad check" laws anywhere., just call me.. Got a good deal, some entertainment, and met an obliging sales person. In same day.

Overall a very valid list of concerns.

On the add to your list side: the powers that be are taking out hydro generating facilities out here because the cost to maintain and upgrade is too high.

I do see some potential for other sources to put juice into The Grid. Tidal is close to viable, and tides are very predictable. Big money is pouring onto it through universities.

I think we will see a bunch of small stuff come online. Things like municipal dumps capturing the methane to run small generators. Some third world villages are using composted hog poop to generate the electricity to run their cell towers and other small electric stuff. It could be interesting if the hog farmers for Smithfield and others would capture and use the off gasses..... I believe the entrepreneurial spirit will find a proper solution when the financial incentives become sufficient.

Another trend is to roll back demand by increased efficiency on the consumer side, easy stuff like switching over to LED lighting. Household climate control (A.C. and Heat) can be more efficient by changing over to heat pumps that exchange heat with the ground or ground water, that are more efficient over a wider ambient temperature range than the air based heat pumps. There is a big push in municipalities to increase insulation values in new construction, additions, and remodels.

    Just some words for thought...

A reasonable conversation about current and near future electricity management and usage by truckers...it's well written, good grammar, no arguments, general agreement...I am very troubled by this.

I think this is a Taliban coded conversation.
