Sand ants? You mean fire ants? A propane torch is all you need for hours of fun. Find a really big mound, give it a little kick, then let the immolation begin. You will run out of propane before you run out of ants.

 

Ear plugs fit just about everywhere......

 

I actually use DEET around my ears and eyes. Seems to work pretty good.

So far I haven't grown a third testicle on my forehead.
