You are thinking of 1st things first (mom-roof). Get those done , then the other will take car of itself. May be better, worse, or equal.
But you will have 2 done and behind to not worry about. As for economy... I Think now and for another year will be the golden time for one to change career paths.
    Look at this ...
Employers are hurting for DEPENDABLE employees. All you have to do is seek the one you want, get into an intelligent HR, and tell them.
I am here to start, be on time, dress and act decently, work the job you outline and prosper with you.
If that is not what that one is seeking, it is not the one you want.
See; the thing is, 90% of the people seeking job are not willing to offer those traits. But actually, these are what made myself and millions of others successful in out lifetimes. Recent generations have lost site of the golden rule... The one who has the gold, makes the rules. Somebody has to be BOSS.
Not to be smart or high horse... But.. Anyone who does not understand the basic premises of the above is going to have a hard row to hoe...

Looking good sir . what is a good way to start learning welding ? I would like to learn but dont know what to get started with ...tig is a much more advanced technique of welding right ? Ive watched countless videos on YouTube but it just seems like welding is one of those things you need the old timers to teach you, rather then just reading a book or watching a video

Do you spend much time around Inverness? Some friends of ours grew cotton there.

Nice weld. But I was envious of the base plate, table top, you were doing it on. Appeared to be 1 inch thick from the edge I could see in pic one.
Nothing like having a SOLID, level base to lay stuff on, keep it constant and steady. Weld or beat with a LARGE hammer, feels good, no bounce.
Can even lay abrasive on it, set a pump face or flange on top and hand surface it true...

First impression was it looks like it was pieced together from parts of an old Schwinn Stingray.
