    I have driven trucks like you mention. Did not have any of that assortment. Gas pedal to go, treadle pedal to stop, hand valve to hold the trailers brakes on, big steel lever with a push button on top to make it stay. Simple...

    Too much Esso #5 (50 wgt) in low tank of that California fuel. Used to help the truck along, Not quite that much tho.
