No. You're just in a Kenworth.

Well if the creek don't rise the bridge will burn.... Seems to be the way things go for me... But I did make it into Iowa, just not quite as far as I had hoped.

Chillin' on an extended 10 at Camp Pendleton, listening to the roar of the helicopters echoing against the warehouses. Hooked to a lowboy and going to head straight back to Bridgeport for a same day or early Saturday delivery. It won't require a permit, but it will give me a chance to see how it goes with those new 1/2" chains.

I must say that one of my favorite drives is on US-395 through Owens Valley, through Lone Pine, Bishop, Mono Lake, Mammoth, etc. The scenery can't be beat. Plenty of truck parking along the way, including hidey holes in some beautiful meadows, near rock formations for those that want to climb, clear streams and rivers if you want to fish, and just great chances for photography.

I like my job. I deal with our best young men and women, get to go places the US government owns that would be an instant national park if it wasn't a military base, and most weekends I get home.

Not this weekend. Once I get back to the yard Saturday night I plan to clean out my side boxes and headache rack, make sure I'm ready for chaining, reroll all my tarps, then shower and laundry. Sunday I head out to be in position to "swing away" first thing Monday morning, with PLENTY of hours left on my 70 and hours coming back Monday night.
