I think we can sing the song now... Wanted to try and make it to Laramie, from there I could take US30 and get around the nasty wind on Elk Mt. But the winds are blowing 35 to 52 mph with gusts 40 to 60 mph between Cheyenne and Laramie... Too stiff for only 18k in the box...

A normal load and I wouldnt even have batted an eye at the wind as it is today... But with only 18k I not only batted BOTH eyes, I shut her down... 1.5 hours after begining my day...

Did you attempt the trailer tandems full back tactic or is that too much for today?

 

If the gusts werent over 45 I might be able to get away with that... But even the mild 35 gusts were rocking my trailer pretty good, and center of gravity is pretty high... I'm loaded floor to ceiling, nose to doors.

 

Just in the last 15 mins since my last post WY has closed I-80 to Light High Profile Vehicles... I made the right call.
